Leesburg, VA (April 25, 2012)
– On Wednesday, May 2, 2012, the Leesburg Economic Development Commission will host its first-ever Retail Opportunity Forum. This free event will provide attendees with a retail market analysis for Leesburg, highlighting the opportunities for retailers to take advantage of unmet retail demand – current and future – within the local market. The forum will be held at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center from 7 to 9 pm.
“We recognize that small retailers often don’t have the time or money to invest in market research and analysis,” explained Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic Development Manager. “Even if they do, purchasing data from a national company doesn’t give them the local insight about Leesburg’s current retail market that we will provide at the Forum.”
“Attendees will receive a packet of information valued at close to $1,000, if they were to individually purchase the various pieces of information,” she continued. “We have assembled a comprehensive retail market report, including gap analysis, household expenditures, demographics, and population growth projections. We will also share some tools that attendees can use to create new retail offerings and identify the missing pieces for their specific locations. In addition, we will provide in-depth, local knowledge about what’s going on right now in Leesburg and where the future opportunities are.”
Commercial real estate brokers, retail property owners, property managers and existing retailers, as well as entrepreneurs interested in opening new retail stores, are all encouraged to attend the forum. The event is free. For more information, please visit www.leesburgva.gov/business
