The Leesburg Economic Development Commission is proud to announce the winners & honorable mentions of the 2008 Business Appreciation Awards, presented at the 7th annual Business Appreciation Reception on May 13, 2008, at the Thomas Birkby House. The winners & honorable mentions in the six award categories are:
New Business Award which celebrates a new business started within the last three years that, while respectful of Leesburg’s past, represents the best of the town’s future:

- Honorable Mention: Bush Veterinary Neurology Service (owner Dr. Bill Bush)
Home-Based Business Award which celebrates the business owner of an independent product- or service-based business, operated from a Leesburg residence, who serves as a small business advocate within the business community.

- Honorable Mention: Future Focus Technologies (owner Allen Warner)
Innovation Award which celebrates a business that has brought recognition to Leesburg through creative marketing efforts, innovative business ventures or unique product development.

- Honorable Mention: Galletta’s Pasta (owner Mark Galletta)
Ambassador Award which celebrates a business or organization that has fostered a positive image of Leesburg as a business location or tourist destination.

Heritage Award which celebrates a thriving business that has made a long term commitment to preserve the integrity and character of Leesburg.
